SUMMARY:21st Century Learning Design & Microsoft Classroom Tools
DESCRIPTION:Course Description:\nThis workshop is intended for community college faculty interested in becoming cybersecurity faculty or faculty wishing to expand their knowledge\, earn an industry certification\, and strengthen their ability to incorporate new cybersecurity content in their community college curriculum. \n\nPreparing students to successfully enter the information technology and cybersecurity workforce requires that we employ Microsoft’s 21st Century Learning Design (CLD) into instructional strategies and practices. This workshop will introduce you to the following 21st century dimensions/skills and how you can use them to enhance student success: collaboration\, skilled communication\, knowledge construction\, self-regulation\, real-world problem solving and innovation\, and information and communications technology (ICT) for learning. We will also explore how we can use them to enhance our teaching practices and innovation in the classroom and support our student’s development of these important skills. \nThe workshop will be delivered virtually through Zoom and Canvas. Participants will be asked to complete Microsoft learn modules and will complete the review questions and quizzes after each module. Content covered during this course will prepare you for the Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) certification exam. \nStipend:\nEligible community college faculty who successfully pass the Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) certification exam will receive a stipend toward preparation for and the cost of the certification exam. \nTo be eligible for the stipend\, you must: \n\nCurrently teach credit courses (full-time or adjunct) at a regionally accredited U.S. community or technical college\nProvide evidence that you passed the certification exam\, such as a copy of the certification or exam report\nProvide a current W9 tax form to the NCyTE Center\n\nThis workshop is sponsored by the National Cybersecurity Training & Education Center (NCyTE). \n\nNOTE: This workshop will be broadcast live via Zoom – attendees should expect to login in to the workshop and participate at the times scheduled (10:00AM – 4:00PM CDT).
